What is Surveys.com PromptCast©
Surveys.com is now offering a special application FREE of charge for members of the Surveys.com community.
PromptCast© makes it easy for you to know when you have been invited to participate in a Surveys.com survey.
Installing this application increases your chances of being selected for additional and more exciting surveys in the future.
Our new application offers two great features not found with any other online research community:
1) SUPER HIGH QUALITY VIDEO:
See products and services (e.g. pharmaceutical products, technologies, financial services, automobiles, and
everyday grocery store items) before the rest of the world. Members that install this application will be able to
participate in surveys that incorporate high quality video, including viewing never before seen movie trailers. Our
application will download video in the background so you don’t have to wait. View our video in hi-def instantly.
2) ALERT NOTIFICATION:
Never miss a survey again! Members will be notified with an alert in the lower right hand corner of their computer when
a survey is available. Members can accept or decline the survey invitation immediately.
How PromptCast© works & What does it look like on my computer?
1) PromptCast© will automatically slide open when you have been invited to a survey.
2) The PromptCast© Assistant© will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen
when a survey is ready for you to take. It will NOT interrupt any of the applications you are currently using.
3) The PromptCast© Assistant© will alert you and offer you the opportunity to take
the survey immediately, later, or decline.
Is Surveys.com PromptCast© spyware or adware?
When you install the Surveys.com PromptCast© program, the installer will NOT put any monitoring
software (e.g. "spyware", "adware", or otherwise hidden applications) on your system.
Surveys.com has no interest and will not collect any information on you without your consent.
We do NOT install any advertising modules or "spyware" which can
track your web surfing habits or anything else you might not know about.
By installing or using the SURVEYS.COM PromptCast© program, all you get is our program... nothing else.
How do I install PromptCast©?
If you are an existing Surveys.com Panel member, click here to
login.
If you are new, join our panel by filling out the registration survey,
directly afterwards you'll be invited to install PromptCast©.
I try to install PromptCast©, but I don't have administrator rights to my computer, what can I do?
You can't do much. Many business lock down their computers so
employees can't install 3rd party software. We recommend asking your helpdesk/system administrator if you can
install the PromptCast© software or better yet, try installing on your home computer instead where these limitations don't exist.
How do I uninstall PromptCast©?
There are two ways, you can simply go to your Start Menu --> All Programs -->
PromptCast© --> and select "UNINSTALL PromptCast©"
or
Go to your Start Menu --> Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs --> Select
PromptCast© and click the uninstall button.
If I uninstall PromptCast©, is this going to remove me from the panel?
No. We will only remove you from our panel if you unsubscribe. Once you
unsubscribe, you are immediately removed from all panel databases in real-time.
What happens if I hang up my internet connection or I am not online?
Nothing, there isn't any problem. Video downloads automatically resume where
they left off.
PromptCast© only will alert you to take a survey when you are online.
Where is PromptCast© stored/saved on my computer?
It is stored in C:\Program Files\PromptCast
Does PromptCast© work with a proxy server?
PromptCast© looks at what proxy settings you are using in Internet Explorer and automatically
uses those.
Does PromptCast© work through a firewall and what ports does it use?
Yes, PromptCast© has been tested to work behind nearly all firewalls. It uses
standard web browser port 80 connections. PromptCast© is designed to work with
commercially available firewalls, including those in business and personal settings.
Is there a Mac or Linux version available?
We are currently beta testing Mac and Linux versions. These versions
should be available shortly.
Do I have to constantly upgrade PromptCast© software?
No. The software will automatically install upgrades when they are available.
